Welcome to our NEW portal.

For the first time, patients can NOW apply online for a medicinal cannabis card—quickly and easily—making access to treatment more convenient than ever. The port guides you through each step of the Application Process. The Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority (BMCLA) ensures that consumer safety remains the top priority.

Please Note: All patients will NOT be eligible for medicinal cannabis.

Requirements for a Meds Card

Citizens

  1. Name
  2. Proof of address
  3. Government-issued ID; Driver’s licence, Passport, etc.

Non-citizens

  1. Name
  2. Address of home residence
  3. Address while on island, or in the case of a cruise ship tourist, the name of the vessel and the port of entry
  4. The length of stay within the country
  5. The person’s passport bio-page

Patient Access Steps

Step 1

Online Patient Evaluation Form

The person enters their information into the online patient evaluation form.

Step 2

Verification

Id’s will be uploaded for verification.

Step 3

Submission to Doctors' Portal

Information submitted and sent off to the Doctors’ portal.

Step 4

Payment Process

The patient makes the payment – Upon submission of your financial details through the online application, your application will be forwarded to the Doctor of your choice for their recommendation.

Step 5

Recommendation Issuance

The doctor conducts the evaluation. If the patient is deemed eligible, a prescription will be issued and sent via email. If the patient is not eligible, a notification will be sent via email.

Step 6

Submission to BMCLA

The information is submitted to the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority for printing of the Meds card.

Step 7

Meds Card Retrieval Options

The cards can be retrieved at the office of the Barbados Medicinal Cannabis Licensing Authority (BMCLA).
